WAZA- The New Club

Keion hasn't had a soccer game for the past two weeks.
It has been nice.
We have needed the weekends to recoup from starting school and Sun. is usually the only day
Keion has off. So these past couple weekends have been great to have Sat. off too.
His soccer team is 3-0 and off to a fantastic start.
Keion has scored a goal every game so far!

I love the new uniforms and the warm-ups are even better.
Keion also had his first football game last week. They lost. Keion is playing wide receiver. He does well, when the Q.B. can get him the ball.
The best kids play in a competitive league so his team is struggling. Keion played for the school so he could continue to play soccer as well. If he played in the competitive league it would have conflicted with soccer too much.
This way, he gets to do both.
It may be a long season with few victories, if any, but Keion will get experience and still be able to play both sports. I'll get pictures of football soon. It was raining during his last game and I didn't pull the camera out.

Scouts

Keion has been busy doing his scouting like a good boy.
I pretty much have to drag him to it but once he received all these awards, I know he was feeling pretty good! (my fav is the basket weaving badge!)

Do you know what else makes going to Scouts worth it?
Yes, the treats they give you after.

During the Court of Honor they had this great idea that the moms should get a pin for their boys advancement. Wonder why they do that???
I got this HUGE piece of bling that we couldn't stop laughing over.
I wanted to find a way to wear it to school, the kids would have loved it and then probably would have tried to steal it.

Scouting really is a great program. I'm not sure we do it like we are suppose to but I know it teaches Keion some valuable lessons. Plus, I get some great accessories!!

The Closing of Summer

I'm not going to complain one bit about the Fall weather we are having. I'm loving every minute of it.
The only sad part is the fact that the long summer nights are coming to an end.
Look at all the fun stuff we are going to miss out on until next summer...

Thank heavens for Scouts. Wouldn't have gotten this fire started without the ol' trusty log cabin technique.

I was beginning to think the Smores were going to be a disaster.

But when there is a will, there IS a way!

Those Smores were ok after all, or at least the marshmallows were!

A final cookout with Pat and Norma. They always treat us so well, we could never repay them for all they do. Pat just came and helped (ok, Kylan watched) Kylan fix the toilet.

We have had a blast this summer.
I can't believe we have lived here for over a year. It is going by way too fast. I get a little teary eyed even thinking about moving again.
I'm just happy we have almost 4 more years here. We love our friends and this town we call home.
I hope these great summer memories help me survive the winter. I know it's going to be a bad one.
Here is to a fun Fall, that I hope we all have.

7th Grade

I've noticed, on many of the blogs that I read, super cute pictures of kids on their first day of school.
Most of them were taken outside with the bright sun shining and the kids bright eyed and bushy tailed.
Well, Keion also got his picture taken but as you know the mornings are quite hectic around our house.
I finish teaching seminary at 6:45 just as Keion is waking up. I take 15 minutes to get my lunch ready, change my clothes (if I'm not wearing a skirt to school) and make sure Keion is out of the shower and getting his clothes on.
I leave before Keion so my only chance to get a picture was just as I was ready to run out the door.
He did not want his picture taken but guess what, I took it anyway. Does he look like he is truly awake? Yeah, I don't think so.

Keion is now in 7th grade and loving it. He currently plays football and soccer. It keeps me extremely busy. He is so much fun. He cracks Kylan and I up all the time. We are so proud of him and know that he is going to have another great year.

Commitment

Blogging has now become an event filled with stages.
First I have to take the pictures.
Next they are loaded on the computer.
Pictures have to be formatted to fit on the blog.
The pictures have to be loaded to photobucket.
After photobucket the pictures make it to the blog.
Finally I have to try and explain what has happened in the last month since I posted last.
Ughhh.
Every step takes a day. Time is limited around here.
For now, the pictures are on the computer...
Hopefully a post will be coming shortly.

A Bee's Love..

..Is a sweet colorful flower. The ones below Kylan gave to me the night we went out for our anniversary. We went to dinner at Maggiano's Little Italy, if you have one near you, go now. You won't regret it.
Photobucket
A bee's love is also something else..
Notice anything that is not quite right in this picture?
Photobucket
..Yes, a love for the back of Keion's ear.
Behind the ear? Who would have thought.
He was also stung on his leg. That was swollen too but I never made it past his puffy ear.
It was just sticking so far out I couldn't believe it. (Keion's neck looks so fuzzy, but his hair is cut so no more fuzz or hair.)
Photobucket
This picture was actually taken a couple days after the fact. It was even a little bigger than what it was in these pictures.
Those darn bees.
