Christmas 2014

We had an interesting start to Christmas. On Christmas Eve my family family was putting on their traditional party. We were all excited to go since we have missed out on so many living across the country. The morning started out fine but after several hours into the day, I got sick, really sick. I haven't been that sick since I was pregnant with Emory and it did not bring back fond memories. I felt horrible for Kylan who was left to take care of all the gift wrapping and setting up for Christmas morning. I also missed the family party. It was such a let down.
I didn't realize I also missed out on the joy of watching Keion not only open his Christmas pj's but attempt some stunts in them as well! Who knew these would have been such a hit.

Thankfully by the time morning rolled around I was feeling well enough to come down and watch the kids open presents. I think I might have died if I wasn't able to participate. I love Christmas and watching the kids. Both of them had a wonderful time and were spoiled as always. Kylan did a fantastic job getting everything set up and prepared and there is no way I will complain about the wrapping job he did on the gifts! He saved the day.

One more year with Keion being at home for Christmas and then he could be off on a mission. I hate to think how quickly time is moving. I guess it's a good thing we have Emory around to make us think we are still young because the truth is...we are getting OLD!

Someone wasn't liking all the attention he was getting!
We sure do miss our friends from MI. Both of these kids have changed so much. This was back in the summer just after we moved and Emory and I met up with Hank and Sara in Pocatello.
It has been way too long since we have seen the Pullin's. I think it's about time we planned a vacation.
Time goes by way to quick and before you know it these little ones will be graduating...like Keion will be soon. Ughhh, I don't even want to think about it.

Canyon Ridge Soccer

Keion was fortunate to join an amazing high school soccer team this past year. For most of the season they were ranked #1 in the state.
During the regular season they only lost one game and tied another.
Unfortunately the team had a melt down in district playoffs and didn't end up going to state. It was such a shame considering the team that took state was in our district and we had beat them. The other team that took 3rd at state was also from our district so needless to say we had a very tough conference.
Keion was named Honorable Mentioned in our conference and was voted best defensive player by his coaches and named as captain of next years team.
Unfortunately in the second to last game of the season, Keion suffered a blow to his quad muscle. He had a hematoma that turned into a bone mass in his muscle. It was very painful and required months of physical therapy. It set him back in basketball as he wasn't able to even start playing on it until the day before the basketball teams first game. More on that later.
Here are only a few pictures from soccer. I am trying to get some from a friend who took way more at the games. I was busy trying to track down Emory...

Atlantis, Bahama Style

Knowing that Kylan was going to be starting his first year of practice we took the summer to celebrate and vacation as much as we could. It was a smart move. He has been busy non-stop since starting back to work and has taken no time off.
One of our big vacations to celebrate his graduation from residency was hitting Atlantis. We went to the one in the Bahamas but I'm thinking we need to check out the one in Dubai as well so that we can give a more thorough review!
We had a blast. There was never a dull moment and more than enough to keep one busy day and night. We opted to leave Emory home with her grandma and while we missed her every single day, we were all glad that we were able to enjoy the resort to the fullest, which we would not have been able to do with her. We knew she was in good hands.
We also took one of Keion's best friends, Grant. That too was a smart move. Teenagers need other teenagers and while Kylan and I are amazingly fun parents (wink wink), Keion would not have near the fun if Grant hadn't joined us.
Just a few highlights: swimming with the dolphins, snorkling, Tim Allen show and endless trips around the "lazy" river. They call it a lazy river but it was anything but that. I spent hours floating around that thing and never tired of it once.
We took one day to leave the resort and hit the straw market. It was very anticlamactic and the extremes of living in one area was eye opening. You had people living in box huts on one side and million dollar homes on the other. Over all a beautiful place to visit.
Anyone looking to vacation should hit Atlantis. You will not be disappointed.
