We're going to the ship, ya we're going to the ship!

The basketball championship, that is.
The tickets are in hand and it is official. We will be living it up in Detroit for the Final Four. I've always wanted to go and knew that someday I would. Well, now it's happening and our team, UNC just made it in and we couldn't be happier.
It is pretty cool that Michigan State made it as well.
We have tickets to all 3 games plus tickets to the hoop-city experience at the Cobo Center.
I can hardly wait. It is going to be such a blast. If anyone wants to join us you can come stay with us, the door is open.
Watching the games gets pretty intense at our house. Oh ya, I also won the bracket competition we have as a family. It is my first time ever!! Keion also had a soccer game the other night. He played well. They tied 0-0. That was great considering they play U-14 and the boys are much larger, faster and stronger than the boys on Keion's team.

Keion also has his basketball championship on Tues. They should win if they play like they have been.
This is our last week until spring break. We are doing all that we can just to make it through this week. Kylan has been working so much. He had to switch call days so that he could make it to the Final Four and to Keion's basketball on Tues.
He was on call Thurs., Sat. and now Mon. Talk about exhausting.
Hurry week, and end.

Skort

A skort is a pair of women's shorts with a flap of fabric in front to make it look like a skirt.
These are old school and have been around since I can remember.
Yesterday I was listening to a t.v. show Keion was watching and one of the girls was making fun of skorts.
I was dying laughing.
She said the skort is a mullet for your butt. Shorts in the back, skirt in the front!

Kylan didn't think it was as funny when I told him but I still keep cracking up over it.

Baby Beckham

I love this picture of our newest nephew.
He looks so sweet and innocent in his little cubby.
I can't believe the little guy had to undergo surgery but he came out a trooper and is now at home with his mom and dad. Doctors orders are to keep him home for 2 months. Talk about cabin fever.
The things we are willing to do for our kids, I'll help make sure Beck remembers this when he is being a turkey when he is older!

Welcome to the family Beckham! We are so happy you made is safe and sound (with only a little turbulence!).

Goodbye St. George

The photos are coming to an end. Here are just a few more from the trip.
The girls had a fun time swimming in the pool. They look like true Amish women or products of polygamy, take your pick.
The softball team.
We took a few photos at the Dixie rock.
My niece, Olivia, has a birthday this month and we celebrated early so we could all have an excuse to hit the Bluebunny Ice Cream Shop. Gotta love the birthday hat!
Olivia is turning 8 yrs. old so I purchased a fun bracelet for her baptism from The Darling Daughter
Last but not least, I was able to go horse back riding! It was a blast!!!

As you can tell, we were a bit crazy but we all had so much fun together. I love being able to see family but I did miss my boys back home so when it was time to go, I was ready.
I'll be back visiting sometime this summer but Keion will get to come too.
Kylan will be stuck here working. No vacation for him until after Aug. (he gets a week off for our spring break but that is it until then.)
Keion won his basketball game today and lost his soccer game last night.
We are doing nothing but watching bball non-stop, and lovin' it!

Day 2

I went to watch softball and watching softball I did.
The girls had 3 games back to back the first day. We were sitting at the park, in the same spot, for over 5 hours.
Doesn't sound like fun? Well guess what, it was. We had a blast. We were yelling, screaming, cheering and booing (the refs of course). Thank goodness for our hostess with the mostest who brought a cooler full of goods. The concession stand didn't open up until AFTER all our games were finished.
The weather was perfect, not too hot and not too cold, just right.
The girls won 2 lost 1. Kalli played great and played 3rd base as well as catcher. She is also the clean up batter, 4th on the lineup and the BEST hitter on her team.
I didn't get any shots of the home runs she hit but she did hit 2 plus a lot of other great hits. Way to go Kalli!

Do you see anything out of place in this picture??
The girls tried to throw their flip-flop up at the light and guess what?
It landed just like this on top of the light. It was hilarious. One in a million chance (maybe even bigger odds than that, I don't know I'm just saying it is very rare this will happen!) it could happen again. It took a some time to knock it back off but they got it.
Only a few more pictures to share. Soon.
I forgot to mention that early Fri morning (the day I'm talking about) my sister, Karrie Jo, called to tell us she had her baby. He was 2 weeks early but seemed to be doing well. She then called us on Sat. morning to tell us he wasn't doing very well and had to go in for surgery. He had to have a chest tube put in to help him breathe and help his lung heal (he had some complications and possible infection in his lungs). He is doing great now and should be coming home from the hospital soon.
Anyone family out there with a picture of the little guy, send it to me so I can post it. Please.

Day 1

The day that I left started out great.
I got to the airport a couple hours early, but the wait wasn't bad, as I had a book I wanted to read and knew I had to have it finished before I returned or it would be 3 weeks before I could pick it up again.
So, I'm loungin' in the airport and I get called up to the desk station I was flying out of. The said my seat was broken on the plane and they would have to change my seat. No biggie.
They also needed flexible people to change their flights because they over booked-WHAT? I still can't figure out why this happens, but it does.
I had to be in SLC by a certain time because that was when my family was picking me up and heading to my nephew's hockey game.
Not so flexible-my body either!
Then they made a last minute plea to anyone who could fly non-stop to SLC (my original flight had a layover in Atlanta) arriving 2 hours earlier than what my flight was scheduled to.
You should have seen me sprint to the desk while knocking over every kid and elderly person in my way...not really but nothing like this ever happens to me and I was anxious to snag up the deal.
I'm never able to take the offers of a better flight, PLUS $300.00 flying voucher for a future flight so I was so pumped when I got this one. Oh YeAh BaBy!
A couple extra hours of waiting, no problem, I have a book to finish.
I arrived without incident and was greeted by the whole fam-damily. I loved it. It was so good to see all of them, or a small fraction of them, but still a lot.
We headed to my nephew's (Mason) hockey game.
We decided to make a poster for him because cheering obnoxiously loud for him wouldn't be enough. This family is all about mad cheering for our team especially when one of our own is playing!

My brother's kids with my lil sis, Mikkel.

My mom and I taking pictures of each other. Too bad I don't have her picture to put with this one, that would have been fun.
My other brother and his family. Look at Mason, he is only 6 months older than Keion but a hundred times bigger. He is over 5'10 and in the 7th grade. When I told him to stay away from the ladies he said, "I can't help it they are all over me!", I don't doubt it for a second.
The rest of us.
SO, after the hockey game we were all gathered around chatting before we took off in our different directions.
All of a sudden there was a loud bang and a lady from the concession stand was calling us over to Hannah (my nieces friend who was with us) who was passed out on the hard tile floor.
Know one knew how she got there but she was out cold. After she came to, she said her nose hurt but couldn't really move and seemed to still be out of it.
They called the ambulance to come and get her and take her to be checked in the ER.
Where was Kylan when we needed him?
We figured out that she was hit in the nose by my niece's head and that is what originally knocked her out and she fell straight back and hit her head on the floor- probably knocking her out even more.
We were in SLC and Hannah's parents live in I.F., Idaho and would take them a little over 4 hours to meet us at the hospital. We were thinking we would have to wait for them to get there before we could head to St.George that was several hours away.
NOT FUN.
As it turns out, all of her tests came back negative and she was fine to go. She called and begged her mom to let her continue on with us and so we were off.
Here are a couple pictures right before check out. She was feelin' perky no thanks to the nurse she had a crush on!
Check out her favorite jacket the EMT's cut off of her.

AND this is not all. My younger sister Karrie Jo called us to tell us she was having her baby. She was being induced 2 weeks early because her amniotic fluid was too low. Everyone is doing well and hopefully someone will send me a picture soon (hint hint) and I will tell you all about Beckham's adventure in coming into this world. It wasn't easy.
2:45 we pulled into Adrew and Kandyce's driveway and the official first day of my vacation came to an end.

I'm Back

Here are just a few reasons why I went on a trip out west...

There are many stories and pictures to share but for now I have to get ready for the new week and spend time with my boys.
Let's just say a trip to the emergency room, a new addition to the family and pulling into our final destination at 2:45 a.m. were all worth it to see my lil' sis-Kalli, hit 2 homeruns and play awesome. I hope to find time to post soon.

NHS & TEMPLE TRIP

I don't mean to be a horrible blogger, I just am. Too many higher priorities have taken over my time. Booo. What I miss most is sitting down and blog surfing (I use to tease my Sis. In-Law about this!). I barely have time to visit my staple sites.
One thing is for sure, I don't want to miss writing about important events in our lives. Two of the most recent have to do with Keion. He was inducted into the National Honors Society last week. We received a letter in the mail asking if he would like to join and if so he needed to fill out the application and submit it for approval. Of course he was approved!
We took him out to eat at his restaurant of choice, Red Robbin, and then picked up some ice-cream. We wanted Keion to know how proud we are of him and his continual efforts to excel in school.
I tried to capture the moment the best I could but I MUST get a telephoto lens (hint hint).

All of these boys play on Keion's soccer team. I thought it was neat that there were several of them.

Here is the man of honor, thrilled as can be to get his picture taken, not hardly. I have to force him to let me take any pictures lately. Maybe that is because I take too many...naw, couldn't be.
Just last Thursday Keion went to the temple, for his first youth trip, to do baptisms for the dead.
I would say that it was his first time in the temple but he has been in more parts of the temple than most youth. I wish that he could remember more about the day he was sealed to us but mostly he remembers playing "Hi-Ho-Cherry-O with the old lady, and whooping her", not that she was letting him win or anything!
It was fun that Kylan and I were able to go along. I just got released from YW's and so I tagged along, plus they needed a body and Kylan is now in YM's, so we were all there together. It was a neat experience to watch Keion, he is an amazing young man.
The weather was wonderful, besides the wind blowing like crazy, and the youth had a few snacks before we hit the road to go back home.

Oh ya, we ran into our friends the Davis' while we were at the temple. I hadn't seen them in a couple years and I enjoyed running into them.
Kylan has officially started the hardest part of his internship. He will be on general surgery for the last 4 months. Our time spent with him will be much less than what we are use to. He is only on the second day and he went to bed at 8:30. Really it was more like 8:00 because he was falling asleep through the majority of the show we were watching. The time change is kicking his boo-tay, plus the fact that he has to get up at 4:15 is enough to make anyone comatose.
I'm getting excited to head west and see my family. My lil' sis is playing in a softball tourney in St. George and I HAVE to see her play, as it is her senior year and I haven't been able to watch her play, being out her in the no-mans-land, Midwest.
My nephew is also having a hockey game in SLC the day I fly in so we will hit that game first. Most of my family will be there (I'm still hoping for my bro and sis in-law to make it..PLEASE!!) so I will be loving life. It seems like forever that I saw them last. It was just last summer but for some reason, it seems longer.
And most importantly...I will restock up on Some Dudes Fry Sauce!
