Yellowstone

One of our last stops on our trip back west was in Yellowstone. There are more pics that I will have to load later but these will give you a pretty good idea of what we did.
We stayed in a really nice place, well actually a cabin, right by the lake and Kylan and I had fun checking out all the animals. Keion and Emory on the other hand really could have passed. One day Keion will thank us for making him drive around the park!
Buffalo are everywhere but when you first get to the park and they are all that you see you think they are awesome and take a ton of pics!
Look how thrilled Keion is.

Kylan got this great shot! The wildlife in the area are truly amazing. We also saw a black bear and her cubs but it was through a telescope so no picture.

I had to beg both Kylan and Keion to stop at Old Faithful. Who goes to Yellowstone and doesn't stop to see the geyser???
I understand we were on the last stretch of our trip to Idaho so we were all done but that wasn't going to stop me from seeing this beauty! Fortunately for us, we timed it perfectly and only waited about 10 minutes for it to blow.
I think if we would have just barely missed it, we wouldn't have stuck around for it to happen. We would see it the next time we visit the park because we are definitely going back! We love the mountains and missed them for the past 10 years living in the midwest.

These next few shots of the kids make me laugh so they have to be included. They start out happy, then Emory hits Keion, and they end both put out that they even have to pose.

And here is Old Faithful doing its thing!

Taking a week to travel back to Idaho was the best decision. We saw so many amazing things along the way and also got to visit some awesome people. While we miss Michigan and our friends dearly we have adjusted back to the Idaho life. Keion acclimated more quickly than we expected but we weren't surprised. I will save all those details for another post. Right now I am just trying to catch up.

Moving to Idaho Road Trip

So I am finally getting pictures loaded and organized from our road trip we took when we moved from Michigan. I seem to be missing several pictures and have yet to figure out where they are. Sounds silly but we took pics on several mobile devices and a lot of them did not upload to  the iCloud so I need to go back and check our phones.
This part of our trip was actually several days in.
We were still feeling pretty good about each other and no major melt downs at this point.
We stopped in South Dakota and stayed near Mt.Rushmore and visit that site as well as the Crazy Horse monument.
Kylan and Keion took a helicopter ride and went by both monuments. You will see from one of the pics that Keion was not too sure about it!
The views were amazing but I am glad Emory couldn't go so I had an excuse to stay behind. I am not a fan of small planes or any small aircraft for that matter.
Mt. Rushmore is a fun place to visit. We all enjoy history so I didn't doubt that we would like it.
Visiting Crazy Horse reminded me of friends that I had in high school that lived on the indian reservation where I grew up.
If you have never been to South Dakota you must go to these sights and also to Wall Drug!!

Easter 2013

I must admit that Easter was sub par this year.
We actually didn't get to celebrate until the week after because we were in Florida during Easter.
There was no way we were going to pack all the Easter stuff with us so we just celebrated the weekend after we got back.
No egg hunt. It's a shame.
I guess we will have to destroy everyone next year at the big family egg hunt!
I couln't help but post all these pictures of Keion and Emory getting their pictures taken. Their expressions are so funy and similar.

I love that Keion tries to act so surprised that the Easter Bunny found him. He did make it fun for Emory and helped her open her loot!

While we usually do well at celebrating the holidays, this was a bust.
To Keion and Emory, I am sure next year will be better...we know it can't get worse!!

Spring Break 2013

Spring break was a blast!
We wanted to end our time here in Michigan like true Michiganders. With that said, we couldn't leave without making a trip to Florida. Everyone in Michigan goes to Florida for spring break and "up north" in the summer.
Now we have accomplished both!
We rented out a house that had its own pool and it was perfect. We would come home every day and go swim. It was nice to have our own place and not be in a pool with everyone else and all of their pee! As I have gotten older I have issues with public pools, I think they are disgusting.
We went to Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and Busch Gardens.
Having Emory with us at the parks turned out to be an advantage for Keion as he was able to ride all the rides twice without having to wait in line again.
I just gathered several pictures from the whole trip and thew them on here.
Too many to go through and decide. Plus I need to go back to digital scrapbook style pages because Blogger format stinks in way of options for posting pics.
If you have the chance you should go to Orlando and visit the parks. Endless amount of things to do.
Kylan and I had just as much fun on the rides as Keion and probably even more. Keion likes HUGE coasters and while we were able to ride a few, he would have gone for even more.
I am happy to report that I went on every roller coaster Keion went on and I didn't get too sick. I have motion sickness in my old age!
We adults must prove to our teenagers that we aren't as lame as they think we are!

We loved visiting the Harry Potter castle and the butterbeer was super yummy.

I love seeing Keion's face in some of these pictures. You can tell how thrilled he is!!

You can typically find Keion on the rides because he is always on the front row and sticking his legs out.

This coaster stops you at the top of the drop and makes you hang there for several seconds before it drops you. We rode several times in the front row but once in the second and the second row was even scarier.

Myself and the other ladies were loving the ride! Keion is camera posing.

Keion continually posing on the rides. I am too scared to even pay attention.

The greatest arcade game...EVER!

If you decide you want to make the trip and want any suggestions let me know. It took months of research and asking others to make a game plan to conquer these parks. In the end I think we did a pretty good job of it.
We won't be going back for a long time. Next time we go Emory will be much older and Keion might have kids of his own...YIKES!
Next adventure before we move, Cedar Point!
