CHAMPIONS

What a game. We knew this was going to be a thriller and it was. Kei ROCKED! He has improved so much the past couple of weeks and he brought his "A" game with him today. The 49ers had the ball first and made some great progress but didn't score. The Panthers made a march down the field but fell short on a 4th and long- they tried to throw a pass-what were they thinking? I guess they forgot the defensive dominator-Kei-was back there waiting. Sure enough, he picked that ball out of the air and started running it back the other way. It was fabulous and Ky and I were on our feet, along with the other 49er fans, cheering him on. We scored during this possession. At half time it was 7-0. All of our boys were playing fantastic.
We had another great defensive stop to start the second half and then scored again on our next possession. The score was now 14-0. Kei played both ways the whole game. In the pic above he is on the left end of the line. He didn't miss a block even though many of the kids he went up against were much larger than him.

The Panthers did manage to score one touchdown with 2 minutes left in the game. We stopped them on the extra point and never let them touch the ball again. Below is a pic of Kei on defense. Kei's job was to not let any player on the other team behind him and that's just what he did. He was THE force on defense today. He also has several huge hits to knock the ball carriers out of bounds. We were so proud of him and happy that he had such a great game on such an important day.

Final score 14-6. They had silly string spraying everywhere after the game. It was really something to see all of the boys with HUGE grins on their faces and how happy they were to win. It is hard to have an undefeated season and the 49ers did it. They ended their season 8-0!

This is a picture of Kei and his buddy Julian (coaches son). Julian also plays on Kei's travel soccer team. Look at the size of those trophies.
And finally a pic of the CHAMPIONS!!!!!
